  Hall of Fame pitcher and baseball legend Phil Niekro brings big-league expertise to Kiz Toys' KizSport baseball line

  Cumming, Ga - April 8, 2008 -- Kiz Toys is proud to announce that Major League Baseball legend Phil Niekro has joined the Kiz Toys team. Niekro is the first member appointed to the Kiz Toys Board of Advisors, and he will be consulting with product developers concerning the KizSport baseball line.

  Niekro's legendary baseball career spanned 23 years, beginning in 1964 with the Milwaukee Braves. As the most successful knuckleball pitcher of all time, he posted 318 career wins, 3,342 strikeouts, 45 shutouts and boasted a 3.35 career ERA. He was a five-time Major League Baseball All-Star, a five-time Golden Glove winner, a recipient of the Lou Gering Memorial Award and the Roberto Clemente Award. Niekro led the National League in wins in 1974 and 1979 (20, 21), in ERA in 1967 (1.87), strikeouts in 1977 (262) and innings pitched in 1974 and 1977-79. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997 by the Baseball Writers' Association of America after receiving votes on 80.3 percent of ballots, the highest percentage of any player that year.

  In retirement, Niekro remains an institution in Atlanta and across the nation, not only for his accomplished career but also for his ongoing work with various charitable organizations.

  The Kiz Toys Board of Advisors was formed to bring a diverse group of knowledgeable consultants together to assist in product development. Since Kiz Toys' product lines cover a broad range of interests, each member of the Board of Advisors is aligned with certain products that correspond to their background and expertise. Each member spends time reviewing product designs and development on an ongoing basis and offers suggestions on current and future products. In the coming weeks, Kiz Toys will announce other prestigious members that are joining Niekro on the Board of Advisors.
